The Christian Science church services this Sunday focus on God the Preserver of Man with the Golden Text from Deuteronomy and examples from the Apostle Paul. A Kern County singing convention is set for Shafter at 2 p m Sunday December 15 at First Southern Baptist with Rev Sam Wilcoxon announcing.
The morning service at Ebenezer Reformed Church will present The Promised King based on Isaiah 9 7. Pastor Melvin B Nonhof leads the 11 00 a m sermon following Sunday School at 10 00 a m. An evening hymn sing and message conclude the day.

National Pastor Kazadi Matthew and Missionary Sam Ediger will speak Sunday at 7 30 p m at First Mennonite Church. Kazadi Matthew serves as a missionary to his people and Ediger works as an American Mennonite missionary to the Congo under Congo Inland Mission. Public invited to attend.

Maple School schedules its Yuletide program on Thursday December 19 with an international Christmas theme. Pupils from first grade through eighth participate in plays songs and instrumental numbers under the direction of Mrs Hazel Haag and Mrs Leroy Hooge with support from faculty including Mr Elmer Engel and Principal Clyde Johnson. The event invites public attendance at the Maple PTA program.
