C V P Pumping Station Under Construction Near Tracy
A giant pumping plant second only to Grand Coulee is being built near Tracy in Alameda County as the Central Valley Project hub. The $5,888,695 facility will lift 4600 cubic feet per second, draw water from the Sacramento River, and feed the Delta Mendota canal to the Mendota Pool, with completion aimed for late 1950.
