Hotrods Seek Speed Titles At Bonneville Trials
Southern California streamliners target top national speeds at the Bonneville National Speed Trials set for Aug 31 to Sept 6 on Utah salt flats. The fifth annual event, co sponsored by the Southern California Timing Association and Hot Rod Magazine, expects 250 entries and tens of thousands of spectators. Last year’s champions Bill Kent of Denver and Chet Herbert of Los Angeles return to try to improve on 252 mph and 236 mph respectively.
