Educator Jesse Stockton Leads Kern Schools In Growth
Jesse D. Stockton, 56, directs 165 Kern County schools across 66 districts with a $581 million budget. He follows his father, ex-superintendent Robert L. Stockton, and emphasizes opportunity, stability, and growth amid earthquake recovery and the post Field Act era. He cites three factors stabilizing enrollment: balanced jobs, farm families settling down, and mechanization driving population steady.
