Two Counties Enter Sound Marketing Agreements With Oregon Areas

Midshipman John Kelly Among Navy crew delayed by hurricane
Midshipman John Kelly son of Assemblyman H W Kelly and Mrs Pat Kelly, from Annapolis, was aboard the SS Benning ton when a seaborne hurricane struck last week causing damage. The ship diverted to Nova Scotia before resuming toward Norfolk, delaying two days. He will report to Pennsylvania next week for specialized training as he begins his third year at Annapolis.

The Wasco Power Club defeated the Rio Bravo led squad 11 to 8 in the championship, after a tied 7th inning, sealing Shafter’s summer softball season as the Power Club claimed the Men’s League crown. Lum Rice starred for Rio Bravo while Elwood Knox earned the win for the Poser club. Over 450 players and 36,000 spectators enjoyed four leagues of action and trophies will be awarded by Roux and Kuentzel of Bakersfield.
