Farm Labor Housing Bill Passes House
The House passed the Bramblett Bill to dispose of farm labor camps to public agencies or farmer associations. The plan allows the Agriculture Secretary to transfer facilities for housing workers, with operation by buyers through 1949 and a 1948 cutover for government control. Bunje praised the bill as orderly liquidation preserving housing. Senate action expected to be favorable.
