Ex Shafter Pilot Killed In Tulare Dusting Crash
Ex Shafter crop duster Bill Horner, 41, died Friday night when his plane stalled near Tulare during a dusting run. The craft struck power lines, spun, caught fire, and burned after the crash at 6 45 p m. Horner, a well known pilot for Rankin Aviation Industries, was returning to the field when the climb over lines failed. Funeral services set for Wasco at 10 a m. He is survived by his wife Jean and sister Etheline Meyers. He formerly lived in Shafter and Wasco and was involved in local business ventures including Cafe Neuman.
