City seeks grant for Shafter Community Park project
The City of Shafter plans to apply for a National Park Service grant of 126000 to support the new Community Park at the northwest corner of Los Angeles and Schnidt Street, with initial construction funded by a CDBG. About 2.5 million is allocated to Southern California. applicants should not request more than 1 percent of the annual local agency share per project.

City backs rehabilitation plan for South Wall Street site
The Shafter Community Development Agency will assist Miguel Montoya in upgrading a demolished area at South Wall Street and West Orange, adding four housing units.
