Luis Perez, a Shafter High School student, died Sunday evening near Poplar and West Lerdo Highway Eas ter after his 1996 Jeep Cherokee lost control and overturned. He was not wearing a seat belt and had no ID when found. identified after his mother filed a missing person report. He is survived by his mother Rosa Maria and 11 siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial was held April 19 at St. Therese's Catholic Church.
