Highway 46 Task Force seeks safety upgrades and enforcement
Lt. Doyle Green, CHP task force chair, announced a Corridor Safety Project funded by a $100000 grant to pay overtime and operating costs. Since creation, about 2800 citations issued on Highway 46, over 1000 by overtime officers, with goals to identify at least five safety factors and implement two solutions by Sept 30, 2000 ahead of Caltrans widening to four lanes.
