An advertisement claims a man endured a decade with a brick like sensation in his stomach. After using KAL-O-DEX his symptoms including indigestion gas headaches and constipation reportedly vanished by the next day. The product contains five herbs and is sold at local drug stores in Shafter.
Editor, Shafter Press, receives gratitude from James G. Smith, Internal Revenue Collector, for spreading income tax information that aided taxpayers and Deputy Collectors during filing season. The community filed returns smoothly from January 2 to close, with unhurried assistance and cooperative newspaper support noted.
The Kern County Board of Supervisors will hear objections to a proposed annexation by the City of Shafter. The territory includes three parcels: parts of Lots 18 and 2 in Sections 9 and 16, Township 28 South, Range 25 East, M D B and M, described per historic maps. The hearing is at Bakersfield in the courthouse on April 28, 1947 at 11 A M, per Deering Act 5159b.
