Lions Club Harness Races to Feature Ponies at Shafter Downs
The Shafter Lions Club event set for April 10 will include five pony races harnessed to the same equipment as horses, plus two horse races. The Shafter Recreation and Park District held its Community Easter Egg Hunt at Stringham Park for youngsters 7 and under. About 300 children searched for over 600 eggs with candy and prize eggs while a 6 foot Easter Bunny greeted, handed out treats, and posed for photos.
