Fingerprinting Booths Set For Back to School Week
Richland School District plans fingerprinting for children with parents during Back to School Week April 26 and 28. Shafter Police will operate booths at Ju nior High on April 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. and at Primary School April 28 from 7 to 8 30 p.m. A $2 fee applies, consent forms are required, and cards may be kept by parents or returned to police records.

Open House Planned at Shafter Depot Chamber
The Shafter Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will host an Open House on Saturday April 16 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the new office in the Shafter Depot. The public is invited to tour the new quarters. Refreshments will be served. The Chamber will then open weekdays 9 a.m. to noon with Secretary Ben Grundy present. President Don Zachary announced the Cinco de Mayo Parade for April 30 in Shafter and other actions included appointing Don Little to the board and thanking Bill Prout for painting the Harness Races sign.
