Water surplus looms as Shafter Wasco plan alumni game
Swid will receive full water for 1980 with San Joaquin River forecast at 184 percent. The district faces a take it or lose it situation March through June, risking thousands of acre feet monthly. District may sell water to others, but surplus likely to spill to the ocean. Shafter High and Wasco High plan an Alumni Basketball Games fundraiser April 10 at Wasco High School gym to support athletic departments. Former SHS students may contact Charles Rekosh for participation or cheer support. Admission is 2.00 for adults and high schoolers, 1.50 for elementary students.
