Local Girl Scouts Rally At Brown Estate
Sixty three Scarsdale Girl Scouts and thirteen Scarsdale women attended the annual Spring Rally of the Girl Scouts of Westchester County held at the estate of Colonel Franklin Q. Brown in Dobbs Ferry. About 1500 Westchester Girl Scouts participated. Troops 3 and 5 received five year service ribbons. A dance by twenty eight Scarsdale Scouts featured Irish costumes with violin and accordion accompaniment. The group plans to repeat the dance at the Westchester Progress Exposition at the County Center tomorrow at two oclock, as part of the event. Attending Scarsdale women included Mrs. Thomas Burgess committee member, Mrs. James D. Lester, Mrs. Ernest Hanford, and others.

Shade Tree Law Passed Tuesday

May Building Permits in Scarsdale Drop Significantly
Building activity in Scarsdale for May shows a sharp decline from 1929. A total of 29 permits were issued this May, with 11 for one family homes costing 202 500 and eight alterations totaling 14 250 plus 10 garages and structures at 44 615, yielding 530 in fees. Village to Sell Bonds for Road Repair and Water Expansion
The Village plans to sell bonds totaling 181000 on June 24 following a Tuesday board meeting. Of this amount 121000 funds the Post Road reconstruction within village limits and 800000 covers extending water mains.
