Elk Season Opens with Mixed Success at Enaville and St Maries
Wildlife officials report three weekends of elk hunting with Enaville showing a small decline in hunter numbers but similar or better overall success. At St Maries more elk checked and fewer hunters, signs point to a strong hunting season. Patrols indicate rising spotlighting, a no tagging arrest, and a call for mandatory stop at check stations. Aerial waterfowl counts are planned next week as pheasant releases continue near Worley and St Maries.
