Public Access Fishing and Hunting News Update
Public access sites for fishing and hunting have been acquired and developed under a continuing Fish and Game program funded by license and tag sales. The general fishing season opens Saturday May 27 and runs until November 30 1972, with limited year round waters remaining. Heavy snowpack may impede stream fishing in higher elevations while angling remains viable in most lowland waters. National Hunting and Fishing Day was proclaimed for September 23 1972 by President Nixon, highlighting support for wildlife management and conservation funding.
