Proliferation of Fish Hatcheries Threatens Thousand Springs Aesthetics
State Reclamation Engineer Higginson warns that many fish hatcheries in south central Idaho could hurt the scenic value of Thousand Springs. A 200 second foot water diversion near Hagerman for a new Gooding County hatchery may dry Billingsly Creek at times, hindering fish migrations, with no legal way to block the right. Hearing set in June, but protestors see little impact.
