Sandpoint Council Approves Beach Miniature Golf Trial
The Sandpoint City Council OKed a one year trial for a beach miniature golf course proposed by Norm Rosenberger and Ralph Wales with a single vote against Councilman Vallieres. The plan limits permanent installations to fence fixtures in a 60 by 80 foot area and runs May 1 to September 1.

Northern Lights Elects Jesse W Lee To Three Year Director Term
Jesse W Lee was re elected director for a three year term at a Monday night meeting in Heron Montana. Dr Floyd Naegeli said Lee has long served as Northern Lights director and Sanders County Commissioner. Nordeen announced revenue growth and higher requests for new power connections in 1970. The annual meeting is set for Thursday July 9 at the Panida Theatre with a free chicken dinner and a city beach luncheon.

Dozers Bulldoze Woodstock West Peace Camp at DU Campus
About 500 Colorado National Guard troops surrounded Woodstock West on the University of Denver campus at 5 15 am and used bulldozers to clear the camp. One youth was found and released after weapons checks, while the rest dispersed to dorms and lodging. A Woodstock spokesman condemned the damage as extensive and damaging to the lawn.

Cambodia Sees First Pullback By U S Forces In Cambodia
The U S Command announced the first withdrawal of American troops from Cambodia fulfilling President Nixon’s midweek pullout promise. About 1000 to 1500 from the 3rd Brigade, U S 9th Infantry Division left the Parrot’s Beak area west of Saigon. In the Fishhook area north of Saigon, U S forces fought a large battle with 5 killed and 44 wounded. Viet Cong casualties estimated at 13. A separate item from Nancy France reports Jules Denis, 37, injured in a garage booby trap incident, stable after shotgun wound.
