Final tabulation shows 22 750 anglers bought steelhead permits in 1970 and Idaho’s catch reached about 20 500 rainbow trout. Main Salmon River yielded 10 100 steelies, Clear Water 5 400, Snake River 3 600, with 1 400 scattered in other tributaries. Idaho residents bought 79 percent of permits and fished 85 percent of days.

Girl Track Team Faces Trip Fund Shortfall at SHS
Sandpoint High School girls track team qualified four members for the State meet in Twin Falls this Saturday but the athletic department lacks funds to cover travel. Phi Beta Sigma Kiwanis Club and booster groups have contributed, yet about $300 remains. Donations can be given to Athletic Director Ken Beaudoin or Principal Dick Sodorff at the high school before departure Thursday. Transportation contact City Taxi 3-3011.
