Murderer at Large After Idaho Prison Ambulance Escape

Idaho State Penitentiary inmate Gary Anspaugh remains at large after departing on an ambulance with another inmate without warden approval. Warden Richard Anderson says this violates custody rules for medium custody inmates and questions supervisory decisions. The escape involved possible conspiracy with patient Cecil Flummer, while staff training and handling of the medical crisis are under review. Anspaugh, a life prisoner convicted of murder in 1957 and 1968, had been described as well behaved and well regarded by fellow inmates prior to the incident.
