Senate Prepared to Pass Tough Anticrime Bill Amid Liberal Opposition

The measure would allow 30-year sentences for habitual criminals and includes broad provisions on grand juries, witness immunity, contempt for false testimony, and protection from mob violence. President Nixon urged action, framing the proposal as needed with stronger tools against crime.
