Awards Show Honors Idaho Sports Figures in Coeur d Alene

At the Idaho Sports Award Banquet in Coeur d Alene Harmony Killibrew and others were named top athletes. Jerry Hendren won Amateur Athlete of the Year for the second straight year while Vicki Mallen claimed Woman Athlete of the Year. The 1969 IHM Academy football team earned Team of the Year, Dwight Church took Coach of Decade, and Ernest W Hartung spoke on Idaho athletics progress before about 600 attendees.

Parades Flares At Schweitzer Basin This Saturday Night

County Horse Fair Meeting Bonner County

A Bonner County Fairboard called a special meeting for January 28 at 8 p.m. in Sandpoint Community Hall to assess the current county horse show and plan the next August event. All horse groups and interested residents are urged to attend.

Jaycees Banquet To Honor Young Achievers In Sandpoint

Roxbury Mills in Fredericksburg announces the departure of bookkeeper Elsie Rice and says Rosemary Wheat will replace her. The move affects the feed and fertilizer firm’s accounting staff.

Postponed Bonner County School Sports Weekend

School officials announced postponement of numerous athletic contests to curb influenza spread. Junior high basketball vs Post Falls and Wallace is postponed along with Sandpoint’s Inland Empire wrestling trip, Bulldogs home games vs Clarkston and Lewiston, Clark Fork games, Priest River vs Mullan, and junior varsity and sophomore preliminaries. Athletic Director Ken Beaudoin says rescheduling efforts are underway with results to be announced.
