Escapee Leads Highspeed Chase From Whitmore Lake
Henry Reed seventeen from Whitmore Lake fled in a stolen 1962 Chevrolet after leaving the Boys Vocational School. Saline police pursued toward Ypsilanti at speeds near 100 mph, ending in a crash on US-12 east of the overpass. Reed, unharmed, fled on foot as officers fired warning shots before capture. He was arraigned in Ann Arbor on unlawfully driving away a automobile with bonds set and an examination date.
