Awning Fire at Detroit Edison Office In Saline
Firemen were called to the Detroit Edison Co office Sunday for an awning blaze that was extinguished with a fire extinguisher. Cause is unknown though a flipped cigarette is considered possible. Hospital notes list several patients at Saline Hospital this week. Calendar deliveries support band activities and fund summer camp costs. Girl Scout leaders gather at Jensen Elementary School for a Neighborhood meeting at 8 p.m.

Milan Youths Arrested After Wounding Teen in Shootout
Two Milan youths 18 and 19 were arrested on felonious assault charges after Charles Cook fired about six shots at 17 year old Dennis Mitchell and a companion on Maple Road near Milkey. Mitchell was wounded in the neck area and hospitalized at St Joseph Mercy Hospital. A third boy was arrested without charge. A Saline police task force assisted in the arrest. The incident followed a brief conversation and occurred as victims rode motorcycles near a car.
