Young Father Killed In Car Crash By Bishop Road

Emil A. Damroze a 23 year old machinist of Saline Valley Farms died when his car left Willis road near Bishop road, struck two trees and crushed the left side. Passenger Edsel Bardell 23 of Wayne was treated for cuts and bruises and released. Damroze leaves a wife Carol and two sons. Surviving relatives include his mother and siblings in Michigan and Europe. Funeral services were held at Bahnmiller Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood cemetery.

Meters Removed in City Lot Under Three Month Trial

City council approved removing meters in a downtown parking lot for November through January in a three month trial. A two hour limit will apply in the lot while street meters remain for transient traffic. The plan aims to boost downtown business and measure lost revenue.
