Saline Hospital Auxiliary smorgasbord fundraiser set

Local businesses and individuals donate to the Saline Hospital Auxiliary annual smorgasbord. The event, chaired by Mrs. Hermian Radloff, will be held Saturday November 4 at Jensen Elementary School with tickets at 2 dollars for adults and 1 dollar for children, benefiting hospital equipment purchases.

Saline Police Department Expands to 24 Hour Service

Saline police now operate round the clock with dispatchers who will also train as patrolmen. The change, authorized by City Council in July, doubles coverage with two patrolmen on active hours and a constant daytime and nighttime presence. Dispatchers handle reports, parking procedures, and administrative tasks while the department processes about 1000 messages monthly.

Automation Study To Include Survey In Saline Area

The University of Michigan's Survey Research Center will interview a second group of Americans between October 26 and December 4 to study automation effects on work life. The 76 communities include Saline. The center conducts quarterly consumer attitudes surveys and protects responses with strict confidentiality.

Adult Classes Offered at HS Starting Nov. 6

Adult education classes begin Monday November 6 in Saline schools with registration closing Wednesday. Courses include typing, machine shop, wood shop, modern math or algebra, painting, and Tuesday bridge sessions. New Supervisor of Nurses Named at Saline Hospital

Nancy S. Watson appointed director of nursing at Saline Community Hospital. A Brighton resident and Harper Hospital School of Nursing graduate, she previously worked as staff nurse, charge nurse, and OR nurse at Harper Hospital. She led a 42 bed medical surgical unit and served as relief afternoon supervisor of nursing.

Saline Clubs Plan Involved March of Dimes Campaign

The Saline Child Study Club and Junior Child Study Club began planning for the 39th anniversary March of Dimes drive next January. Mrs James Keller campaign director of Saline chapter returned from Chicago after the pre campaign meeting with leaders from Ann Arbor Milan Chelsea Manchester and Whitmore Lake. A workshop is set for 3 p m Thursday at the Savings Bank community room to map the junior group’s participation in the January drive.

Saline United Fund drive reports no progress in week two

The Saline Area United Fund thermometer showed no donations today as leaders reported no reports from any area or special division. Chairman Don Church and treasurer Rev Lawrence Cole said funds may exist but none were turned in or deposited, while president William Crim Jr. noted nothing received. The two week target of 23 724 is a rise over 1966 but still active drive with two new agencies Catholic Social Services and the Cystic Fibrosis fund joining Saline's list.
