Saline High School debate teams begin their season November 16 in the ake shore League with two Monroe schools and others in Erie Chelsea and Saline. Debates will be away from Saline as it is not centrally located, Mary Sue Wahl says. The schedule runs to January 5 with a district contest. The group has attended debates in Lansing and at the University of Michigan. The national topic is Congress should establish uniform regulation for criminal investigation procedures. Michigan’s oldest resident, Clara Bell Withington of Hillsdale, died last week before reaching her 106th birthday on November 4. She had long lived at Saline Valley Farms. Mrs. Fred Arend of Saline attended Hillsdale services, with burial in Burlington. Dr and Mrs Donald Wild and Timmy Wild of Lexington, Kentucky, visited the Arnold Wild family over the weekend.
