Joyce Ann Fox of Saline returns for a visit then joins Hoxie Bros. Circus as a trained aerialist and elephant girl. She performs in a six week Bahamas and Puerto Rico tour starting January, and her act with Susie the elephant was filmed for an NBC special.

A Junior Great Books Discussion program may start next fall if enough parents and adults sign up for a brief leadership training course. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library with the Houghton and Jensen PTOs and approved by the school system, it would serve grades three through six initially and could expand to all grades through 12 if demand exists. The pilot program is led by co chairs.

Hornets Win Homecoming Triumph Over Dundee Vikings
The Saline Hornets defeated the Dundee Vikings 12 to 0 in wet conditions to claim their first league win since formation nine years ago. With a rainy start the game featured tough defense, key tackles by Bill Ray and Gary Ernst, a long scoring run by Jerry Hill, and costly penalties that stalled Dundee’s offense.
