Toni Co. employees at R and B Tool Co. rejected the UAW CIO as their bargaining agent by 41 to 25. About 105 workers are employed, with 73 eligible to vote in the first plant election since the company began operations in 1942.

School Fluoride Program Requests Due Here Monday
Final requests and fees are now being accepted for the annual topical fluoride program in Saline schools. Sponsored by Saline PTO in cooperation with Michigan Department of Health. Striking Ford Workers Attend Classes Here
Torrents of Ford Motor Co employees on strike attend UAW education classes at the Masonic Temple twice weekly as part of the union's rules for strike assistance. About 150 workers travel from Manchester, Brooklyn, Ann Arbor and other cities to participate while 1,410 of 1,610 local strikers receive aid totaling $35,000 weekly. Local officials note most aid is cashed locally and a significant portion is spent in area stores, with meals and supplies funded by the community service committee.

Saline's old Rail road Street once used for nearly a century has vanished as the city and private owners redevelop the property. The stretch was leased but never condemned and is now split among Uniloy Division Hulls Grocery and the Saline Mercantile Co with barricades a sign and a new fence marking its nonexistence.
