A General Vocations Explorer Post is forming with the High School PTO sponsorship. An introductory meeting at 8 p.m. Monday in room 36 invites interested boys and girls and requires a parent or both parents for the first session. The post will study about a dozen professions and meet twice monthly.

Girl Scout Troop Sends Clothes to Viet Nam Orphans

Youth Arrested After High Speed Chase Ends in Crash
Duane Strieter an 18 year old of 5186 Austin Road was arraigned in Ann Arbor Municipal Court on a fleeing from a police officer charge after a high speed chase that reached 120 mph on Michigan Avenue. His 1968 Dodge, driven two days, crashed on Weber Road injuring no one. Strieter also received a speeding ticket for 65 mph in an 85 mph zone. Examination on the fleeing charge is set for November 22 with bond set at $50.

First Snow Contest Officially Ends in Saline Blizzard
Judges declared the First Snow Contest officially ended as a blizzard deposited a solid white blanket of snow in Saline at 4 p.m. Winners from all sponsoring merchants contests and the grand prize of 50 dollars will be announced next week.
Area Social Service Elects New Officers
Mrs. Eugene Garrison is re elected president of Saline Area Social Services Inc with Mrs. Kenneth Thompson as vice president. Other officers include Mrs. Gerald Meyer treasurer Mrs. Richard Cole secretary and Mrs. John Proctor transportation chairman. New members are Rev. Herbert Reed Mrs. Arthur Singleton Mrs. Charles and Mrs. Cole. The group plans Christmas boxes for needy families and asks for toys clothing non perishable foods and gifts for shut ins donations may be left at 300 E Henry St by December 1.

Building Permits for 40 Apartments Approved on Clark St
The city approved building permits for a 40 unit project eight five unit buildings on Clark Street with an estimated cost of 405000.
