Saline Board Maintains 4 Mill Hike With 13.78 Bonned Levy

Saline Area School Board reaffirms plan to seek a renewal of last year’s 13.78 millage plus a new 4 mill levy, stating need exceeds the amount. The board adopted hiring policies emphasizing teacher suitability, writing samples, and ability to engage students across levels. Dana Wiegand proposed a freshmen band trip to Montague with 65 students, priced at 15 dollars per student for bus transportation. Barn Blaze Homestead Suspected Arson In Saline Area

An early morning fire gutted a barn at the Saline Milkey roads intersection on the former Acton property. Fire Chief Ray Alber says there was no wiring and the blaze was likely set. No nearby structures were damaged and authorities let the barn burn out. Voters in Saline and surrounding townships vote May 18 with polls open 7 am to 8 pm for presidential and Republican county convention selections.

Memorial Day Rites Planned at Oakwood Cemetery

Lions Elect Officers For New Year In Saline Area

The Saline Area Lions Club, chartered in 75, elected Tom Collins to lead the group next year with Jack Spence as charter president. Officers include Owen Campbell 2nd vice president Gary Dee secretary Hob Fortier treasurer Bill Mangold 1st vice president Dan Campbell tail twister and board members Ken Guenther Al Price Si Woods.
