Meha plans definite retirement village site in Saline

Meha board announces Saline location for a retirement village for educators. A land contract for the Dr. Lloyd Steiner property north of the high school is being negotiated. The project aims to open in fall 1965 with 75 entries planned, growing to 1,500 retirees by 1975 across 210 acres with apartments, cottages, and a community center.

U M Youth Band Presents Spring Concert At Saline

Saline Councilman J Hemmye to resign June 1

Councilman Jerome Hemmye will resign his seat effective June 1 to take an assistant professorship in mechanical engineering at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics in Sao Jose dos Campos Brazil. The University of Michigan contract supports 12 representatives for two years. Saline Freshmen Win State FFA Livestock Judging

Three Saline High School freshmen led by Fred Gall Gordon Guenther and Gene Girbach won first place at the Michigan FFA livestock judging competition on the Michigan State campus. They will represent Michigan at the national FFA convention in Kansas City in October. Saline also fielded a daily judging team with Richard Zahn John Kring and Phil Gordon.
