Tourist Duck Band Return Hints at Tragic Saline Visit
A letter to Ed Warner from H. D. Ruhl of the Department of Conservation confirms a duck band returned after a duck found dead in Saline. The band No M34741 was issued to Game Haven Shooting Preserve near Lapeer Michigan and likely used fall 1961 to spring 1962. The mallards at the preserve are free-flying, suggesting the bird may have ventured away to explore the world.
