Funeral services for Debra Lynn Witten 17 will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Bahnmiller Funeral Home Saline. A Debbie Witten Memorial Fund at Citizens Bank funds a Saline High School girl scholarship based on academics athletics and character with priority to track participants. Debra a SHS track star held the school 880 record and planned to enter Michigan State University. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Surviving family includes brothers grandparents and other relatives. The community and SHS classmates will attend.

Saline officials announce a new radar patrol traffic unit to enforce posted speed limits on Michigan Ave and other streets. Four officers funded by state and federal grants will start next Sunday, aiming to curb speeding after a fatal 17 year old Debbie Witten injury on US 12 and considering speed bumps and signage to deter violators.
