New owners plan to strip paint and siding from the Village Party Store Gambles building and the Saline opera house to reveal arches and lines from the past. Storefront work may finish by fall with interior work to follow. Gambles will stay at its current site and continue operations. the party store may move.

Walker 1 800 Stolen In Lunch Hour Heist
About 1800 dollars in cash and checks were stolen from Walker's Store on North Ann Arbor Street in Saline during lunch hour. A 5 11 white male in his 20s with curly hair entered the rear office and fled as staff member on duty called police. The missing money bag and notes remain unaccounted for while coins on the desk were left behind.

Robin Bonded Family Carves Care For Starling Tweetie
Robin Tweetie the six week old baby robin, cared for by Nicole Stimac and her mother Barb, thrives on a homemade high protein diet in Whitlock Street yard. The bird often chomps on cat chow bird chow raspberries and dehydrated crab meat with a worm treat. The mother bird was seen outside the cage attempting to feed Tweetie, a rare sight as mothers usually avoid offspring handled by people. Tweetie roams free except at feeding times, returning to the cage at night.
