Kraus to Retire After Four Decade Hoover Ball Role
Walter B. Kraus retires Monday after twenty years as corporate secretary of Hoover Ball and Bearing Company, tracing a career from Glenvale Products in 1947 to Universal Die Casting and then merger leading to Hoover. Born 1907 in Detroit, he built the growth from a single plant to a 17 division operation with 28 plants and 7,866 stockholders. He plans golf, photography, music and time at Torch Lake, with home at 1531 Normandy Rd Ann Arbor.
