Historymobile to Highlight Michigan Through Aug. 18
The Michigan Historical Commission Historymobile visits Saline August 15 to 18 in front of 106-108 Ann Arbor Street south of City Hall. Open daily 10 am to 6 pm with free admission. Exhibits cover Michigan history from prehistoric times to present, including industry, war, and postwar developments.

The city recreation program enters its final week with awards on Friday. Beginning swimmers will receive certificates Friday morning, and girls softball champions will be crowned in the afternoon at Henne Field. Musical Youth International returns from Europe tour
MYI arrives home tired and happy after a 37 day European tour with 35 concerts in 8 cities across England Wales and Germany. Six Salinians join Director Lester McCoy and Mrs McCoy including Hallie Jane Mehler April Beach Dennis Dicks and Gilda Wedemeyer. The group connected with 1000 homes and 51 Michigan and Ohio high schools, earning praise for musical proficiency and discipline. A Vienna reception honored Dr McCoy for promoting intercultural youth exchange. Post tour plans include performances at Whiting Auditorium Flint and events across Canada and the U S until August 11 1967.

Sale of Bricks Aids Construction of New Church
The sale of paper bricks funds the Church of the Nazarene at Monroe and Henry streets. The colonial style building, nearly finished brickwork, measures 30 by 56 feet with an eight foot porch and office, seating 200. About 500 dollars in bricks have sold, some funds going to pews. Expected completion in late September or early October.

Saline Blood Bank Faces Heavy Use This Year
The Saline area Blood Bank has seen heavy use this year as donations rise and supplies dwindle. The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the Junior High School on Tuesday August 15 with donation windows 2 to 5 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Donated blood is stored and provided to residents at no charge, aiding many including Marvin Dimon who received five pints this year. Other grateful donors include Mrs Dimon and Mrs Wahl alongside patients such as George Helzerman John Flock and Mrs Flook who needed blood for surgeries.
