Jaycees Sell Tickets for Saline International Rodeo
The Saline Jaycees announce the 6th International Rodeo at Farm Council Grounds on Saline Ann Arbor Rd in Washtenaw County. Performances are Aug 13 and 14 at 8 pm and Aug 15 at 2 pm featuring bareback riding calf roping saddle bronc riding steer wrestling bull riding and a girls barrel race plus acts. The Saline Blacks improved to 6-4 with two 21-4 and 20-5 wins over Clinton squads. Doug Peck and Dennis King starred on the mound, while King added four hits. The Saline Blues, at 4-6, beat Milan Greens 13-7 then lost to Clinton Blues 17-5, with Pete Campbell and Mike Kline leading at bat and Campbell taking the loss. Milan Blues defeated Saline Greens 4-1 as Steve Jahnke held Milan to two hits. Clinton Blues topped Greens 11-5 behind strong pitching from Phil Robinson as Greens drop to 3-8.

Saline Rays win 4 3 on late steal and strong relief pitching
In Saline on Saturday the Rays rallied to a 4 3 victory over Stein and Goetz of Ann Arbor with Dennis Bishop cooling a 3 0 deficit after relieving starter Steve Hoeft. Bruce Rosander had two hits and two RBIs while Pete Slepsky scored the winning runs including a steal home in the sixth.
