The Mothers' March for the New March of Dimes raised 800.40 with Saline chairwoman Mrs. Harold Wilson reporting. Other drives include a 66 dollar OES card party, 115 dollar bowling tourney, and a faculty alumni basketball game at the high school. County bowl-off at Huron Lanes set for February 9.

Saline junior varsity, after a 62 56 defeat by Chelsea, seeks revenge against Dexter this week. Jerry Austin led Saline with 13 points and Bob Armbruster added 10 as players called the Chelsea game “rough” and a battle all the way. Neil Still and Ray Hartman noted the hard fought nature, likening it to a football contest. Saline had beat Dexter in OT earlier this season and now faces the junior Dreadnaughts on Dexter’s court.

Two Hurt When Car Struck Pole on Icy US 12

Izetta Morris and Rosiel Morris were treated at Saline Community Hospital for minor bruises and shock after their car struck a road sign and a utility pole on US 12 near Whitlock Street. The car, driven by J. T. Morris of Fort Wayne Indiana, reportedly swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle in snowy conditions.

Saline Hospital Adds Five New Staff Members

Saline Community Hospital expanded its medical staff over the past year with five new doctors. Eugene Garrison of Saline and Robert Kerry of Ann Arbor joined as general practitioner and surgeon respectively, while William Vanderberg of Milan is an ophthalmologist. Paul Wicht of Ypsilanti and Robert A. Henry of Saline are general practitioners. Dr Henry previously practiced psychiatry in Lansing for a decade before joining the hospital.
