Teamsters Reject Million Dollar Offer for Saline Valley Center
Teamsters Local 299 declined a one million dollar offer for the Health and Recreation Center at Saline Valley Farms. The 640 acre site, bought last summer from Harold Gray, remains not for sale as it develops snowmobile trails and facilities. John McMullen becomes recreation director after replacing Jim Coleman in December. a snowmobile race and show is planned for January 31 and February 1.

Lodi Township Bazaar Aids March of Dimes This Saturday
The Lodi Township Bazaar to benefit the March of Dimes will be held at the Farm Council building from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the main Saline-Ann Arbor Road route. Ten Firms Bid on Water Sewer Extension for High School
Ten firms submitted bids Monday night for Maple Rd and Austin Rd water and sewer lines to the new high school and Catholic Church site. Engineers will evaluate bids and report by Jan 30 for Feb 2 council action. Maple bids ranged 89 765 to 146 810.10 for sewer and 40 271.80 to 66 610.85 for water. Austin Rd sewer bids 19 540 to 29 135 and water bids 10 258 to 18 032. City Blows Sewer Air To Dilute Paint Thinner Spill
City crews aired out a sewer line after paint thinner leaked from a bent steel plate at the Ford plant. Resident Ken Volz smelled the odor and notified officials who traced the spill. A quick crack repair and safe readings followed as fire department equipment and air fans checked every manhole along the line.
