Saline's ice rink opened to an active crowd on Sunday after a weather delay. Volunteers led by Winter Sports Committee chairman Bob Russell worked through Friday to Sunday to improve ice conditions and plan long hours nightly this week. Girls’ Gym Classes to Use Rink at Junior High
Junior High will hold physical education skating classes on the school rink each Wednesday and Friday for about 200 girls ages 12 and 13. Many have their own skates, while donated skates will be lent from the physical education department to girls who need them. Mrs. Ruth Smith, the instructor, says skating will be fun and notes that some students are already skilled while others are skating for the first time.

Collision Fatal In Saline Area Killing Mrs Kleinschmidt
Ruby Jane Kleinschmidt 58 of Pittsfield Township died after her car was struck broadside while turning into Austin Orchards driveway on Saline Milan Road. Her husband Oscar injured and hospitalized. Walter Hufford of Milan treated and released. Funeral held in Ann Arbor with burial at Forest Hill Cemetery. She was native of Saline born 1911. Survived by husband daughter son siblings and many relatives. Memorials to church or humane society.
