Fire damages home of Boillot family on Harper Drive
A basement fire at 228 Harper Dr. heavily damaged the Francis Boillot residence while the family was away. Firemen battled for about three hours as flames spread via a cold air return and under the second floor, melting a plastic phone. Mr and Mrs Boillot and their daughter Laura Smeth were not home but returned later and are staying in Ypsilanti.

The Friends of the Library invite the community to a special meeting at 8 15 p m on Monday March 10 in the Schleh building to view progress on the new library. Plumbing heating and electricity are installed and painting stairs balcony and railings are in. A library functioning film will be shown and refreshments served with no solicitation expected.

Tax exemption forms due by March 14
Applications for homestead tax exemptions for veterans and senior citizens must be submitted at City Hall no later than March 14. City Assessor Walter Lahde will assist residents in filling out applications between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, and those unable to visit City Hall may call 429-4907 for a home appointment.
