The board approved the pact last week and teachers led by Nancy Campbell expect approval though they express reservations about terms including a 350 dollar base raise, expanded health coverage, two personal business days, and payroll deduction for Credit Union payments. The schedule details raise bachelor and master level starting salaries and caps, plus Christmas and spring vacation dates are outlined. The vote follows a months long negotiation with the board focused on class size concerns and potential concessions to address parental concerns shown in a district survey.

Saline Mayor Faces Court Over Bus Incident with St Bernard
Saline Mayor Hubert Beach, widely known for his road actions, is in 14th District Court over a bus incident on Mills Rd. involving a St Bernard dog. The case arose after Beach returned the bus chassis from Leo's Welding Shop to a parking spot when the dog darted into the road. The owner’s mother, Cheryl Wilkerson, and Beach took the dog to a vet. the dog recovered, but police reported the bus was unlicensed and insurance coverage was discussed with Beach’s agent. The matter appeared before Judge Patrick Conlin.

Saline Town Christmas Panels Shine With Community Help
All Around Saline reports colorfully painted masonite Christmas panels hung on downtown light poles and in businesses. High School art students taught by Taylor Jacobsen and Kathy Snyder created them with volunteers aiding carpentry and mounting work. A $25 prize will go to the top panel after judges evaluate the works before Christmas.
