Festive Season Opens With Santa’s Saline Visit
In Saline the festive season kicks off with Santa arriving at 2 p.m. Saturday to hear wishes and hand out candy. The Saline Chamber of Commerce extends visits to Friday nights starting December 14, with Santa roaming stores downtown. Chance tickets prize four $5 certificates. Stores stay open later during the run up to December 22 and the week of December 17 through 22.

Two Charged With Larceny From Auto
Two youths pleaded guilty to larceny from an auto and face sentencing in Justice of the Peace Court on Thursday December 13. James J. Dumont 19 of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and John M. Fundukian 21 of Southfield were arrested after police saw them walking on Michigan Avenue at Whitlock Street and stopping them for questioning. They admitted hearing something drop from their car and led officers to a radio hidden in bushes across the road from a service station owned by Ted Hill.

Saline area designated Mrs Herman Radloff of 277 West Bennett Street as campaign director for the 1963 March of Dimes drive. Four Injured in One Car Crash Near Dexter

He seeks annexation, water and sewer access, tap-in fees, and tax rates for 125 acres near the Ferry property and river frontage with homes from 1200 to 1800 square feet. Boiler Room Floods Saline High School
Saline High School canceled classes after a burst boiler flooded the boiler room and tunnels with two feet of water. Superintendent Leo Jensen said a stuck shut-off valve and a failed sump pump caused the flood while city crews pumped out water and repairs were arranged.
