Costume Party Prepares Youths for Thanksgiving Event

Greens Market Aids Agencies In Ann Arbor
The 21st Greens Market of the Ann Arbor Branch, Woman's National Farm and Garden Association, runs 10 am to 3 pm on Thursday December 10 at the Ann Arbor Women's City Club. Vendors offer greens for decor, a do it yourself greens department, novelties, aprons, knitted items, a Thieves Mart and baked goods. Luncheon from 11:30 to 1:30. Proceeds support Ypsi Garden Club, scholarships, civic projects, and the International Farm Youth Exchange Program.

Conservationist Clark Backer Receives Merit Award
Clark Backer district conservationist with the U S Soil Conservation Service in Ann Arbor received a Certificate of Merit at an SCS awards banquet. The award recognizes outstanding performance in all phases of the SCS program at the Ann Arbor Work Unit Office. Backer directs SCS technical assistance for Washtenaw County and has two years in Ann Arbor since November 1968. Previously he was District Conservationist at Gaylord and held SCS positions in Adrian Stanton and Grand Rapids.
