Saline City Council approved a parking fine hike to take effect Monday December 14. New rates apply to offenses including expired meters and double parking, with higher penalties after one week. Police will issue tickets until a replacement clerk is hired.
Saline opens with a 70-64 loss to Manchester as Milan looms Friday in a key league opener. Coach Bradly says Saline can rebound, with Jerry Hill returning after a suspension, to challenge defending champion Milan and chase a stronger season.
The Saline Area United Fund Board will meet next Tuesday December 8 in the First Presbyterian Church social room to elect new directors. Attendees include contributors to the United Fund drive and local campaign leaders. On December 10 a state level recognition plaque will be awarded to Dr Gerald Eisemann in East Lansing.
Saline’s First Snow Contest concluded as a 5:15 pm Nov 25 observation marked the first snow. Priscilla Ann Westphal won a free Reporter subscription for predicting 6:06 am on the 25th, just 51 minutes from perfect. A grand prize of 25 dollars awaits the best overall forecast.

Other locals Ed Jeziorski Dawn Brokaw and Jesse Hood are noted as under or recently released from area hospitals.
