Saline Jaycees installed Prancing Park Toys on sturdy springs at Curtiss Park with a concrete base. The club has ongoing park development including a picnic shelter footbridge and fenced play area. Children at the Presbyterian Day Camp enjoyed the scene.
A brief wind storm near the Jedeles home on Lindemann Road uprooted a willow and toppled a pear tree while corn was flattened. Neighbors claim tornadic funnels sighted though no other homes were reported damaged. Mrs Jedele recalls previous lightning strikes and vows to stay.

High Jerry Graf surveys damaged gasoline pumps after a Sunday night crash with a car driven by Kenneth Hall, 30, of Belleville on W Michigan Ave. Hall was arrested for driving under the influence, released on $100 bond, and set to appear in District Court August 28. Pumps deemed blameless. business continued.
