No Word Yet On Recreation Job Freeze in Saline
City Council has no word on whether the federally funded Recreation Director post will stay open after Jane Bersuder leaves for a teaching job in Ann Arbor due to a U.S. Labor Department hiring freeze. Efforts continue to persuade Washington to allow Saline to retain the position. The 140000 annual recreation program may falter without a full-time director as state and federal funds pay about 65000 of the costs.

Flag Football Action Due This Season At Henne Field
Jim Martek organizes an adult flag football season sponsored by the City Recreation Commission. Six teams expected, up from five last year. The two month season begins around Sept 1 with games at Henne Field and practices arranged through Martek. Up to 18 players per roster and seven on field.
