Saline Ford Plant Stoppage Halts 950 Jobs
The Saline Ford plant closed Wednesday idling 950 employees due to a lockout of Teamster union members across the country. Nationwide, Ford Motor Co layoffs reached about 12,000 with GM Chrysler and American Motors also trimming output as parts shortages and transportation bottlenecks hit assembly and parts plants. Some Saline workers were moved from Sandusky, and normal operations were expected to resume next Monday.

Women’s Physical Education Class Offered at High School
A women’s physical education class as part of the Adult Education Program at the high school will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and for nine more Thursdays. Enrollment remains open.
